Sambo had said, “I can tell you clearly, even the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Abdullahi Adamu, knows that on the day of proclamation, these candidates may not scale through.”

Sambo, who spoke during an interview on Arise Television, said the APC cannot afford a rebellion at this time. He recounted how rebellion made the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to lose the seat of the Senate President in 2011, when Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State defeated Akande, even though the latter had the support of the PDP. He recounted how similar case was recorded in 2015, when Yakubu Dogara of the PDP defeated Femi Gbajabiamila, even though the latter was endorsed by the ruling party.Continue Reading>>>

Sambo said similar case might be recorded in 2023 if the APC does not sit tight. He revealed that some Governors were not carried along in the zoning arrangement, even though their power extends to the lawmakers from their respective States.
