Obi, who spoke on the background of the abuses and rain of insults targeted on the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, over his recent comment on the “president-elect” Bola Tinubu.

The former Anambra State governor, who condemned the social media attacks, also distanced himself and members of the Obidient family from what he described as another campaign of calumny from opposition ranks.

Adeboye had on Monday, declared that Nigeria would prosper under the incoming administration of Bola Tinubu.

He had said Tinubu could fix Nigeria with God’s help, while urging the president-elect to fulfill Nigerians’ dream of a new nation.

Adeboye had through his Special Assistant, Pastor Dele Balogun, during a monthly Thanksgiving service at the RCCG Headquarters in Ebute-Metta, said: “Let us pray for the incoming government that God will support it and give it the Grace to do the right thing.

In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday, the faction’s spokesman, Abayomi Arabambi, posited that the Electoral Act and the Constitution of Nigeria did not give room for a vacuum, “so whether the President-elect is sworn in or not, there is right to remove him legally if it is found out that he was not duly elected.”

Arabambi recalled how the court removed Chris Ngige and confirmed Peter Obi as the governor of Anambra in 2003.

Citing sections 136 and 146 of the constitution, Arabambi said only death and permanent incapacity can stop a President-elect from being sworn in.
