It’s funny how people are quick to turn on someone that gave them many happy moments not too long ago.

Fast forward to 2023, the same Mendy who was praised to the skies for his heroics between the sticks is now been bashed and abused by some Chelsea fans.

The Senegal international started his first Premier League match since November in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest today, but was unfairly singled out for harsh criticisms because of the mistake he made that led to Nottingham’s first goal. CONTINUE READING….

Agreed, Mendy shouldn’t have come out too soon to claim the ball as the likes of Thiago Silva and Badiashile could have handled the situation better, but let’s not forget that it’s been long the keeper last played a match, so mistakes like this were bound to happen.

Perhaps, disgruntled Chelsea fans should be demanding for more game time for Mendy to help build his confidence and not throw him under the bus for making a mistake that even the best keepers out there can commit.
