Four Arsenal players prevented them from winning the Premier League

And with no other engagement away from the Premier League, many contended the title was Arsenal’s to lose.

Man City in driving seat
However, a string of poor performances in the closing stages of the campaign has seen the Emirates dwellers falter, leaving City in the driving seat.

ESPN reports that Arsenal now trail City by four points, following their 3-0 defeat to Brighton on Sunday.

Goals from Julio Enciso, Deniz Undav, and Pervis Estupinan sealed a momentous win for the Seagulls, putting City on the brink of retaining the title.

With little hope of catching up with the Cityzens, Sports Brief takes a look at four players who inadvertently cost the club the Premier League title during the Brighton clash:

1. Jakub Kiwior

The Polish star, who joined Arsenal during the January transfer window, was part of the team that lost to Brighton on Sunday.

3. Bukayo Saka

Like Martinelli, Saka has been equally outstanding for the better part of the campaign.

However, the youngster has been somewhat silent in the season’s closing stages, with his lack of incisiveness up front denying Arsenal much-needed goals.

4. Jorginho

The Italian midfielder has played a less prominent role since his shocking move to the Emirates Stadium. His lack of game time was largely down to Thomas Partey’s perfect form.
