Abure said that he had previously made known that there were intentions to end Peter Obi’s legal battle. He emphasised, however, that such plots would be foiled despite the best efforts of those concerned. Regarding the internal conflict within the Labour Party, Abure emphasised that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally recognised the winners of the Labour Party primaries held by his side in Kogi and Imo State. As a result, he recommended that the group headed by Lamidi Apapa be ignored.

 

Abure, however, voiced his reservations about the plan to stop supporting and openly oppose Peter Obi’s petition. Though not fully abandoned, the proposal is still being tried to be put into action.
