Okonkwo Slams Police Over Kuti Treatment

Responding, the Nigerian Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said it was a normal procedure before the detention of an individual.

Reacting to this on Tuesday in a series of tweets, Kenneth Okonkwo said it was unlawful for the police to handcuff the singer after he voluntarily surrendered himself. Noting that a person who voluntarily submitted to the police cannot be presumed to be violent or planning to escape.

Play Your Role In Nation Building—Adeleke

The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has called on members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC to play their role in nation-building without bitterness and rancour.

Adeleke gave the charge to the Batch A Stream II corps members during the terminal parade and official closing ceremony of the orientation course at the permanent orientation camp, Ede on Tuesday.

He advised that bitterness and rancour were twin emotions capable of incapacitating and limiting them from achieving optimally in life.

Spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Presidential Campaign Council for the recent past elections, Daniel Bwala, has said the latest visa restriction imposed on some politicians by the United States is a testament that the election was rigged.

The United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, had on Monday, revealed that his government imposed visa restrictions on specific individuals for allegedly undermining democracy during the recently-concluded elections in Nigeria.

Speaking on the matter, the PDP chieftain who spoke on Tuesday when he appeared on Arise Television programme, alleged that the individuals fingered for the restriction are government functionaries.
