Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, revealed this in a statement issued on Tuesday titled, ‘We invested in infrastructure for economic growth and prosperity, says President Buhari as he commissions the Second Niger Bridge, among others.’

Buhari said, “We don’t act on infrastructure by chance. It was a deliberate choice by our administration as a tool to combat poverty, spur economic growth and employment, and pave the way for our people’s prosperity.

“As we examine the debt profile, I urge us to also examine the asset and investment profiles, some of which were financed with debt and others with investment income.”

As expected, this development elicited reactions on Twitter as it was shared by PUNCH on their official handle.
