Speaking while receiving the duo in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, the governor promised his support for only them, being the anointed candidates of their party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ijesaland have reiterated their support for the leadership of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

This was as the Ijesa APC leaders affirmed that Oyetola still remained their party leader in Osun State.

Addressing journalists at the Ilesa-East APC Secretariat in Ilesa on Friday, Johnson Ajilore, who spoke on behalf of other leaders, said the former governor enjoyed the privilege under the provisions of the party’s constitution.

A former Governor of Edo State, Adam Oshiomhole, on Friday, shed light on his political differences with a former governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, saying it was purely on issues of obeying the law and nothing personal.

He also tackled former Senate Whip, Victor Oyofo, for alluding that former governors go to the Senate to display opulence.

Oshiomhole stated these at the first Senator Ekpe Moriri Lamai Memorial Lecture organised by Senator E. A Lamai Foundation where Okorocha who was one of the panellists jokingly alleged that Oshiomhole was one of the problems of Nigeria.

 

The outgoing governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has said that he is not going to run away from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission anytime he is invited.

Ortom made the declaration on Friday during the valedictory session held at the old Banquet hall of Government House, Makurdi.

The governor who encouraged his council members not to entertain any fear if the anti-graft agency invite anyone of them said that he was ready to honour any invitation from EFCC anytime, any day.

He said, “Anytime you are invited by EFCC, don’t be afraid to go; as for me, I am not a coward that runs away from EFCC, if they come for me, I will follow them. I don’t have any investment in Europe. All I have are in this state.
